St. Monica English medium School was established on 1st June 2003 under St. Monica Parish, Kumbla by V.Rev.Fr.Alfred Pinto, the then parish priest, as a unit of catholic Board of Education of the diocese of Mangalore.
The main purpose of starting this Institution was to impart quality education to the students of rural area. Being a minority institution it educates students irrespective of caste, creed and religion. According to the logo of the school was set up to be the “Planted to Bloom”. The institution aimed at moral intellectual, physical, emotional education with variety of curricular and co-curricular activities to promote a harmonious development of the child.
The kindergarden and 1st standard was opened only with 77 children in June 2003

Sr. Vincenza,(Soceity of the sisters of charity) guided the school for 6 months.St. Monica Institution for Computer Education was started in April 2003 for external students.The extension of the school building was begun in October 2003.
Sr.Roshini was officially appointed as the Principal of St.Monica English Medium school on 15th November 2003. She served the institution for 6 months.

Sr. Pauline took the charge of the institution from 1st may 2006 till 2nd January 2007.Extension of the school building was started in January 2007 and slab work was completed in may 24th,2007.
Ground was Prepared by clearing the trees and a new open stage is constructed on 30th May 2007.

Sr.Rosy (Sr.Ursula)was appointed as the new principal, under her leadership sports day was held in January 2007. She served till 30th may 2009. Rev. Fr. Alban Rodrigues took the charge of the correspondent of the school on 1st July 2007. He Managed school as a Correspondent till 15.6.2011.
Sr. Britto managedthe school as a principal from 1st June 2009 to 5th May 2010. Sr. Cicily is the incharge of Tailoring, Embroidery and Fashion designing.
Sr.Aleyamma served the institute from 6th may 2010 to 30th May 2014.
Fr.Marcel Saldanha was appointed as the new Correspondent on 14th June 2011. During his term separate kinder garden building and Conference hallis built. The Computer room ,CC TV, required furniture and infrastructure needs were being attended.Bcause of the hard work of Fr.Marcel Saldanha and Sr.Aleyamma the principal,school could secure NOC From Trivendrum(G.O(MS)No 280/2013) on 19.10.2013.
Sr.Alice was taken the charge as a principal on 1st June 2014. The last two batches of SSLC proved Cent Percent result in CBSE Board exams.She served the institution tirelessly till may 2018.
Fr. Marcel Saldanha worked for converting St. Monica English Medium School into CBSE school. Because of the hard work of Marcel Saldanha& Sr.Alice the Principalon 06.10.2015 St.Monica English Medium School Converted into CBSE[CBSE Affiliation No-931243].
Fr.Anil Prakash D’silva was appointed as the principal and correspondent of the school on 1st June 2018.More attention was given to improve the skills and talents of children through various activities. The curricular and co-curricular activitive were introduced in full swing. The new band set has brought to the school and training was given by well known band Master Mr.Ronald D’souza. Children exhibited the band show on 15th August on Independence day.
Bulbul and guides were introduced in the school. The formal inauguration and investiture ceremony was held on 5thFeb 2019. The purpose of scouts guides are to foster the students important values and skills like leadership, creativity, team sprit etc.

This year we also introduced scout and cub to foster the skills and values.
Mass drill with hoops and Dumbbells introduced in the school.children performed drill during annual Day celebration.
The management has provided the school bus facility to the children from June 2019. 33 students make use of the bus facility.
The New generator is brought to the school in August 2019.
Science Laboratory has been upgraded which helps in effective teaching and learning process.
The infrastructure is improved as students increased this year.the school has provided all the necessary equipment’s for the smooth running of the institution.
The management also provides three additional class rooms for the next academic year June 2020.
At present there are 622 children are studying in our school. There are 28 qualified teachers and 4 administrative staff are rendering their service. In the progress of the institution we “ keep looking up” learn from the past, dream about the future and look up to take the institution into excellence. There is nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a healthy day.” The student community should be happy and cheerful as it is the motto of St. Monica
